What to write about?  I don't know, but they say that you should just start writing and things will come.

What things will come?  Movie or Book?

Furry human.  Comedian.

"When a six hundred pound gorilla has got you by the tits..."

I set goals for myself while on vacation, but I seem to be falling short on them.  Least of which was to not fall short on my goals.  General laziness and malaise are the culprits, I might start charging them rent.

On the eve of PM to AM, I am sitting here instead of sleeping there.  Odd, but not unexpected.  Sleeping arythmatic nocturnal habits tend to creep up on one.

To that note, I will endeavor to start one item on my to do list, even if I do not complete it.

Good turnout.  And, as usual, I liked most of the things they had.  They have some other shows, including one in November.  I would suggest anyone in the Detroit area to go.  You will find something you like there, I'm sure of it.

One of the vendors was the Record Lady (Reware).  I have her business card somewhere, but not handy.  She makes all these things out of old LPs.  Earings, binder/planners, etc.  In the three or so years I have been going to the Hand Made show, we have gotten something from her each time.

There was a wood guy. Start the jokes.  Nice guy.  Really seemed to like what he was doing.  He used local woods and every scrap he makes into something.  Interesting stuff.  He had wood binders, wooden rings, wood handled knives, leather items.  In smart alec (who is alec anyways?) fashion, I picked up a ring and said, "I've heard of trees having rings before...".  He said he never heard that one.  I am sure he was being kind.

There was a nice set of jewelery and at least one t-shirt that made me laugh.  It read, "Kill the hippies and steal all their weed."

All in all, if you are looking for that one of a kind item or just looking for some really cool stuff or you really want to support the local scene, you can do it all at the Hand Made in Detroit show.  Check out their website (above) to find out where other shows are held and to find some (or all) of the vendors that were there today.

So, I have been snapping pics most of my life.  My first camera was a Kodak 110.  Recently went through my printed pics and was like, "What is with these square ones?".

Bad exposure, angles, out of focus.  But hey, that was many moons ago.  Now I have a nice camera that I can take bad pics with.  Sony A-100, if you're interested.  I like it.

I carry my second hand P&S with me everywhere.  Never know when I will want to take a pic.  There are days when just about everything I look at seems to be something I want to take a picture of.

A busy intersection, road sign, my cats, random bits of things that I come across.  Sometimes, I even take pics of people and landscapes.

I was just out visiting the Hand Made in Detroit show handmadedetroit.com/. &nb… took pics of some vendors that I liked.  I need to post these in the near future.  I will post about that visit later.

After that, we took a drive to a Mexican place Xochimilco's.  It's pronounced SO-SHE-MOCOs.  I swear it's Mexican food.  It's in Mexican Town near the Detroit/Windsor border.  Nice place, good food.  Only one complaint.  The light is low.  Not pitch black, not well lit, so the eyes take a moment or two or three to get used to it.  When you leave, people point and laugh that you are a Michigan Mole.  Not really, but that's how it felt.  I got some pics of the outside and some interesting sights in and around Mexican town.

We drove/walked around downtown taking some pics.  The soon to be demolished train station, old Tiger stadium (whats left of it, anyway), and some other random bits and bobs.

All and all, a good day.

This sucks.  I have a standard 8 to 12hr work day and when I come home, all I want to do is not think, not touch a computer and not do much of anything.  I have websites that I want to make or need to be finished, graphic work that I want to do or I am missing out on and I have tons if ideas every day.  Some I email home, leave myself messages or just let slip past me because I am so bogged down by the daily grind.

I get up in the morning, get ready for work, get into work after fighting with traffic for an hour when the trip should only take me 20mins, work all day, no thanks, no creativity, monkey flipping the switch kinda stuff.  Then I get to go home, and spend another hour in traffic, get home.  After that, I just want to sit, watch some TV and go to bed so I can do it all over again.
